MORAGA DRIVE

This community encompasses homes located along the southern portion of Moraga Drive, south of guard gated Moraga Estates. The namesake street runs along the base of a canyon in Lower Bel Air. The community is self contained and secluded with Moraga Drive being the sole point of ingress and egress. Lack of thru traffic and tranquil surroundings heighten the desirability of the neighborhood. Moraga Vineyards, an historic 16-acre winery and estate, is located on the east side of the canyon.
Moraga Drive has not experienced the level of redevelopment seen in other communities nearby. The vast majority of original construction remains, although many residences have been restored or updated to varying degress. The street is lined with mature trees and verdant landscaping. Views are naturally limited for many homes along the canyon floor. A handful of elevated parcels on the east side of Moraga overlook the mouth of the canyon and the city and ocean beyond. Unusual for a canyon setting, lots are relatively large and flat. Grassy yards (both front and rear) and swimming pools are common.
A strong selling point of Moraga Drive is proximity to major transportation corridors without any of the associated noise. Out of sight and sound up the canyon, residents still enjoy access to the 405 Freeway and Sunset Blvd less than half a mile from the community.
