POLO FIELDS

The Polo Fields neighborhood is tucked between Riviera Country Club and Paul Revere Middle School south of Sunset Blvd, in a flat segment of Santa Monica Canyon. The community derives its name from the polo fields formerly maintained adjacent to the Riviera Country Club. The Riviera Equestrian Center was operational in the 1930s and 1940s and proudly hosted equestrian events for the 1932 Olympics.
The Polo Fields were constructed in the 1950s post-war boom. Befitting popular architecture of the period, ranch style homes are prevalent throughout the community. Redevelopment has creeped in at a slower pace compared to many other parts of Brentwood. Consequently, the neighborhood retains much of its original character and charm, and modest homes provide one of the most affordable points of entry into the Brentwood market.
The handful of homes built in the last few years are generally double the size of the original construction, averaging 5 to 7 bedrooms, 5,000 s.f. to 6,500 s.f., and commanding prices up to $6,000,000.
